Shared Parenting Catching On

I recently found and commented on the attached news article as seen below. I wanted to take the time to share my response here with you…

I believe the IDEA of some form of shared parenting is catching on but still in states where it is recognized such as Missouri and Arizona… Judges still have the discretion to determine what they believe to be the Best Interest of our Children and with that discretion, a gender bias against fathers still exists.

Our changes will need to be societal. The media still portrays men and fathers in a negative light. The legislature still writes laws that are designed to punish and incarcerate men and fathers. The judiciary incarcerates men and fathers at a far greater rate than women who commit crimes more egregious in nature.

We are headed in the right direction, we are recognizing the true best interest of our children is their right to share equally in the lives of both of their fit and willing parents but… it has taken us 50 years to get to this point in time.

Generations have been destroyed, it is time now more than ever to speak up against the injustices perpetrated against men and fathers merely because of our gender and demand that we be recognized for all of our positive efforts which are literally everywhere one looks.

Still with all that we have accomplished, most of which was for our families. Still, all that most fathers want is equal parenting time with their children is that too much to ask? Let’s not spend another 50 years fighting for what truly is our children’s best interest, let’s DEMAND IT TODAY!
